Sick Sword Tails

Hi I am hoping someone can help me with this one, my problem is my sword tails in perticular have what appears to be a bent back, clamped tails after a couple of weeks eventually die, it is mainly affecting the swords,although a couple of platties had it also.

do they develop these symptoms or do you breed them and the babies have theses symptoms...if it is the latter then the answer is to stop in-breeding them.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Bent spines can mean old age, fish tb to internal parasites.
Check the anus of the fish to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.
What does it look like when the fish go to the toilet.
Do any fish look skinny or bloated.
