Hi all

I have a group of 5 sterbai. A few weeks ago I noticed a white stuff on one of the sterbai and immediately removed it to the hospital tank. I started treating with Waterlife Protozin and am now doing a second course. It doesn't seem to have made a difference to the white. It looks like velvet, not sure. The sterbai is still swimming around, acting normal, eating and still in good spirits. Just can't put it back with its friends till this clears up. There also seems to be a small tear on the dorsal fin.

Community tank the sterbai came from, 48"x15"x18"
Temp 26
Nitrate 15ppm
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Ph 7.2
Kh 4
Gh 9

None of the other sterbai have this or any other fish in the tank.

Could anyone help me sort this out?!?!?!

Thanks
:/

Corys are more prone to bacterial infections, and the white looks fluffy to me it looks like columnaris.
You will need myxazin and pimafix.

Velvet when its white look like they been sprinkled is talc like a dusting.

Thanks Wilder, I hoped you'd help us out.

I better make a trip to the LFS then, I really want to get him healthy and back with his mates. He seems happy enough, but will be a proper little cory with his friends.

Thanks again and will let you know if things don't improve.

:)

Thanks for all the links Wilder

Do I dose with both the myxazin and pimafix together? Should I also treat the community tank? The hubby is worried that myxazin won't do his biological filter any good.

Thanks again
:)

Always best to treat fish in issolations, myxazin dosnt harm the bacteria in the filter, but sometimes it can sligtly knock it.
