Sick Shark

just looked in my tank tonight, and my red tail black shark has a big red sore on his upper lip, its almost like a blood blister. any ideas on what it could be, and if so what should i do to treat i etc???

Size of tank in gallons or lites.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.
Could he of damaged it on something in the tank.
Does your heater have a guard.
Will need a bacterial med.
