I only had my red columbian for about a month before he started getting this black haze over one side of his body. I spoke to an aquarium when it first appeared and was told that it would disappear on its own. Its been about 4mths now and it has increased in size and takes up about a quarter of one side of his body. This morning i noticed that it looks like it is eating into him as one part of him looked inflamed. Can anyone give me any ideas as to what this disease may be. I've read up on black spot but i don't think that this is the problem???? I tried antibacterial medicine which didn't do a thing and all water tests appear to be ok.

What are your water stats like ammonia, nitrate and nitrite(most recent stats please)? how many gallons does the tank he is in hold?

If it's eating into him, if you can issolate the fish you could try an antibiotic as with it eating away at the flesh and it's inflamed its not sounding good, also add some melafix to the tank, to take care of the inflamation.
