One of my platties seems to have a whitish patch around her eye or even possibly under the skin.. (the eye is fine). Seems like it's eating away or growing under there but its not furry or raised like a tumor.
She is hiding, clamped fins but when I turn on the lights to feed she comes out and eats happily. Even peas, zuccini and flake as usual.
I am using melafix and last weekend used para-ex to treat for possible internal parasites as some fish died that did have white stringy poops. She doesn't have them or ever had the white stringy poops.
I don't see any other fish with any complaints or white stringy poops now. The ones that did have them died before I worked out what to treat them for.
They died slowly not quickly if that helps.
I don't have a quarantine tank and I am going away for 2 days in a few hours so I can do no more than to add melafix as I have just done and see what happens when I get back.
