My oscars eyes dont look so well, they look as if he is squinting. His eyelids are nearly closed, he has been like this for a week and a half. He also has bad vision, he keepts on bumping into stuff.
These are the water parameters
nitrate:0
nitrite:0
ammonia:0
ph level:7.3
He is in a 200 litre tank with 2 bristlenoses and a firemouth. I do weekly water changes of 20%.

Angus

Could you post a picture of his problem?
Does the eye seem cloudy at all? Or is there a bubble around the eye?
What color are his eyes? Are they bright and clear?

Oh thats not good, it's got an infection inside the eye. i cant think of anthing that can help :(

It looks like it's cough it's eye on something and the infection got in that way.
The fish will survive but it may loose it's eye.

Eye sight is not a major thing to fish in general, they use the lateral line more and the loss of an eye is like us loosing a hand, Very annoying but it' not the end.

sorry to say that. i have no idea what it is, but i hope he manages well if he does lose the eye :(

If you could isolate him, you could try treating with a bacterial medication. However as mentioned above he may lose that eye.

How long has the tank been running as a Nitrate of Zero shouldnt occur unleess the tank isnt cycled.

i know what it is
Corneybacteriosis
Symptoms: Bulging eyes

Treatment: There are a few commercially available products which treat corneybacteriosis. Penicillin and tetracycline are among them.

Information: Corneybacteria causes swelling in the head which will push the eyes outward. It is caused by overcrowding and water of poor quality, having an excess of ammonia and / or nitrites.
