Hi Folks

I started a thread last week about my platy who i thought was preg. I moved her to a seperate tank and after four days moved her back to her normal tank due to no delivery.

Im now thinking there may be something wrong with her??

She hasnt gotten any fatter...but she is hiding again and still breathing really fast still. Only picking at her food. In fact the food i gave her went eewwy because she wasnt eating. So i now have to do a water change because of it.

Is it possible she really is preg? She seemed fine in the small tank full of plants (all though hardly ate a thing) but when i put her back she was fine for a couple of days and now hiding and has gone back to how she was before i moved her. Hiding, fast breathing, tail down, pink gills.

She comes up to the front when i go near,...its like shes trying to tell me something...

Water stats are the same in both tanks.

ph: 7
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 0

hmmm....... she could be overfed...... but yet she's hiding .......hmmmmm could i see a pic of her? u'd get beter answers that way ........

This is the link to the other thread. Pics are located in there. (cant post ics due to being at work)

She is around the same size. She doesent look sick. Im just concerend. She doesnt appear streesd. All her fins are in tact, no signs of fungus etc and the only thing which im concerned about is her lack of motivation and her hiding. There is two boys to four girl platys and she is the biggest body size wise. Shes the only one showing these symptoms.

The only other thing i could think of is that when i did my water change last week i placed a carbon pouch in my external filter. Is reacting to the carbon i put in the filter last weekend. But wouldnt they all react if it is to cause them grief?

The pouch is in the external filter. Ive used one before with no dramas. Washed the pouch and everything.

These are the only photos I have managed to snap..

You can see that her tail is down and she is hiding and bloated/fat and doesnt swim around. She breathing heavily still to.

Sorry for your loss..

RIP sunny..

It could have been an internal parasite/bacterial infection.. Was her poo brown/black?

Her poo looked normal. It varied in colours. We did have an internal bacteria problem in the tank months ago but i managed to quarrantiene and do a magor gravel back with meds. I was thinking maybe constipation but she was passing her flakes ok.
