I dunno if i am just being paranoid but my serpae tetras seem to have a bit of white on their fin. Now i also have one serpae that is missing quite a bit of his upper fin. I am not sure if this is due to fin nipping as they are quite agressive fish or if it is a disease i should be worried about.

Well you will have to find out if there are any fin nippers in the tank, the white on the fin does it look fluffy in appearance, any red streaking in the fin, or small red dots.
Water stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how many gallons is the tank.
Plus full stock list of fish.

lots of fin nippers in the tank. the white on the fins doesn't look "fluffy". but there seems to be some sort of fluff hanging off one of the tetras mouth.

ammonia 0.00
nitrite 0.1-0.2 (my test uses color charts and it jump from 0 to 0.3 so its hard to tell but its definatley not 0.3)
nitrate, no test for this..
pH is 7.2

keep in mind i am due for a water change in a few hours after a whole week.

tank is 65 gallons
9 serpae tetras
12 tiger barbs
1 schilbedae catfish
1 blue ram

if i am to use anti bacterial medications.. will it affect my fish that are not sick? thats a concern i have.

I just did about a 35% water change. I will test the parameters in a few hours after the water mixes around and what not.

I am thinking i should wait a few days and keep an eye on them to see if it gets worse.. apparently serpaes always have a white coloration to their lower fins. What do you think about this?

You need the med as columnaris left untreated can soon kill a fish and the tank, primafix and myxazin by waterlife.
