as you culd guess from the topic title i have a sick Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid, his been unwell for a few days now, i did a water change about 3 days ago and he seemd to pep up slightly, but it didnt last long.

his symptoms are is that his very lathargic, he just sits on the bottom of the tank behind some java moss, even when he moves his body dosnt leave the gravel, his colour is quite pale, almost a beige, his eyes are normal colour and his top fin and tail are still bright orange.

his tank mates are:
1 Female Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid (which is completely well)
1 bristlenose catfish
3 dwarf pencilfish

PH 7
hardness 120
26ºC
fully planted tank

any other info you need just post back

thanks guys :)

Being pale is a sign of stress.
Water stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.
Does the fish look bloated.

no he dosnt seem bloated, he looks thin if anything, i do have a betta in the tank with them but its segmented off from the rest of the community, could the sight of the betta be upsetting him?

Being thin, fish tb, internal parsites to flukes.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Check the gills to see if there pale with excess mucas on them, or red and inflamed.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.
Is the anus enlarged or red and inflamed,

the fish really isnt moving at all, so hence no flicking :/

the gills don't look inflamed, anus looks normal, i think at this stage i need to put him out of him misery?

Hows the fish doing, or has he died.
