Hi All

I have noticed that my Male Apistogramma agassizii Tefe does not seem to be well.

Symptoms, its seems to be floating about everywhere, it can swim still but seems not to have any control of where its going and bumps into things, plants, glass etc. It always has its mouth open, not sure whether breating heavier or not, do not think its gasping as its mouth is not out of the water. It has gone a very pale colour but its belly is pretty red looking.

The water parameters are

Amm - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5

temp 26 degrees
PH around 6.6

This is a wild tefe.

Any ideas what this maybe, all the other fish are fine swimming around as usual.

Thanks
Dave

Sorry he's in a bad way and he's not going to make it.
He has septicemia if the belly is red and once it has advanced hard to cure, will get you some info.

Look under septicemia.

Thanks for the information, after reading through the description of Septicemia, the symptoms are very similar.

Will see what I can do if anything.

Ok, good luck.

Gutted, it died. Do not think I could have done much for it. It was a nice fish, makes it worse that it was wild and pretty expensive.

Sorry bless him.
R.I.P.
