Hi

I have a big problem with one of my Java Ferns... Its looking very sick.

This happened round a week ago and Ive only had this plant (which was sold to me attached to a piece of wood) for around 2-3 weeks.

Here is a Pic.

Currently I do not own a Phosphate or Nitrate Kit. But i was holding back on those as I thought of purchasing them after my Universitys BioChemistry department gives me an answer as to whether or not i can order dry fert chemicals off their supplier. (not sure if this sentence made sense)

My pH is at 7.1 and my kH at 15... which gives me a CO2 concentration of 36ppm.

I think one very possible cause of this may have been from me overdosing Iron. Nearly Two weeks ago i bought the JBL Ferropol in liquid form and added it to my tank. The second day i did a partial water change and added a full dose of the Ferropol again to the tank. The following days i dosed irregularly... jus dosed half the full dose when i remembered.
Now i have read that iron Overdose can cause problems? Is this possibly what happened with my Java?

Please Help.

Thanks

EDIT: Spelling

You could cut off the leaves that look bad, because I don't think you can save those. Maybe the leaves that haven't been infected will survive and continue to produce new leaves.

Overdosing can cause problems from what I've heard. Too much nutrients in the water is no good.

Thanks there IovaykInD.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or opinions?

please help.
