Sick Jack Dempseys

i have a pare of Jack Dempsey that have a white film on them and have been treating melafix and it doesn't seen to help can anyone help me so i don't loose them

some more info would be helpful , tank size , water stats etc . it sounds like it could be the fish producing excess slimecoat which can be a sign of many things such as a reaction to water quality . it can be a sign of other irritations like parasites etc but the water quality would be the 1st "cause" to eliminate .
