I noticed when i was feeding the gang that my guppy seems to have a growth, its maggot looking and about 1cm

Not sure if it's anchor worm or internal parasite as i know this is mostly in imported fish (Internal parasite)

Any help offered would be great.

Thanks,

Caz

it looks like a anchor worm to me have you tried any salt with this guppy Jungle makes a good product for parasites I have had very good luck with it. How long have you had this fish? I would get it out the tank with the other fish until I found out for sure what that is.

Thanks for the quick response

she is about 1 and a half and i have a spare tank but the heater isa broke

I have 2 spare 300 watt heaters but i doubt they will fit

Over the last couple of hours, this thing has got longer - looks like it's coming out of guppy's bottom - Could this be related to constipation?

Hi caz this guppy looks very sick I agree add some anti parasite treatment and also isolate the fish, I doubt she will survive though. Whatever it was has taken a lot of energy and body mass from her. Best of luck, but be prepared for the worst I think it is too late to save her.

i am glad you told him this william i just didnt have the heart It sure does need to be away from the other fish asap. try the jungle product it is worth a try if not that do something and also put some salt in with this guppy salt does wonders for the mollies and the guppies to and good luck.

Thanks for the advice....she seems better this morning what ever it was has gone ....i am going to treat the tank with antiprasite, hopefully that will get rid of whatever it is

Brilliant news caz!! I am truly thrilled to hear it I thought this guppy was a gonner! Make sure to keep up the meds and feeding
