Hi All,

One of my "teenage guppy fry" as I call them stopped eating and is acting very lethargic.
He is about 9 weeks old now.
I did the regular water change yesterday evening and I noticed afterwards that one of the fry was not eating at all and was rather swimming "still". I didn't have a chance to notice this prior to the water change, so I don't know if this is the cause.
Also, normally my partner feeds them during the day so I have no idea how long this has been going on for. The previous water change was 4 days prior to that.
He used to be normally swimming all the time with his two brothers from the same batch, but now is just hanging at the back behind the plants or moss balls and no interest whatsoever in any type of food offered. The rest of the fry as usual go crazy for food and behave normally.

There are no visible signs at all that I can see. He is swimming straight, but tends to stay at one spot.
I don't think the problem is the water, as I did a water change on both aquariums with the same water. I tested the parameters straight after I noticed this, after the water change, and they are as follows:

Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-20-30
PH-7.6

I did test the water 3 days ago for ammonia and nitrite for my regular check up and ammonia/nitrite was also 0, so I don't think water parameters is the cause.

I was trying to see if there is any external signs, but hard to see. I don't know if it his coloration, I am paranoid, but it seems that he has some reddishness coming up on his belly. He is still young and getting more colors, and already has red on body and fins as his other siblings, so not sure whether this is something, but is the only thing I noticed.

There is still no change. There are no external signs. I think the red I saw on his belly is just coloration. He doesn't eat at all and is not active. I have no idea why. Rest of the fish seem fine.

Here is a video of him from today hanging around the filter. He normally stands still at the front glass looking at me, but the camera scared him so he swam to the back. He was so still that I actually could see the shape of his gonopodium which may answer my other thread whether he and his two brothers are endler/guppy hybrids. If the gonopodium of an endler has a split end, then he is some type of guppy/endler hybrid

Please turn off the sound!!! The fry tank nees a serious makeover I know :hey:

I actually found a video on my camera taken 6 days ago when he was his usual self, playing and showing off to his brothers.

If he he doesn't eat, then he can't be feeling well. But what could be the problem? Something internal? I did not see him poop at all since I noticed that and his belly is a bit flatter than his healthy siblings.

I have no idea what the story is with him.
I fed them this morning, and he is just standing in one spot and no interest at all.
I really can't see anything external. He is thin, but not anything major yet I guess.
Could he be depressed over me moving the females to the other tank :/
His mother acted the same way when she was left alone in the same tank once and perked up straight after she was moved in with her old friends, although he is not alone.

Can't do anything besides doing water changes everyday I guess until I fugure out what the problem is. Water tests fine, no ammonia and nitrite and PH is the usual 7.6.

Has anyone had guppies refusing food without dying or being sick?

I haven't seen him eating yet. When I put the food in,he just swims away from the frenzy the rest of them create. He seems a bit more active though and is not hiding, but he is not as playful as he was. I haven't seen him showing off as he used to before, spreading his tail and curving the body, then trying to mate with his brothers.
I know there isn't much anyone can help, but I am puzzled.

He is almost back to normal, he ate today. Go figure what was wrong with him. Probably depressed over me moving the females out :shout:
