this looks pretty bad as I lost 2x15cm sevy 2days ago hope them :rip:. Only 6 made it thought the night when I have a black out. They have ich during that time so I have added medicain and raise temperature to like 86. But that black out just freaking strike on the wrong period of time. With no air stone left and at like 4-5 am in the morning there aint' much I can do. But I manage how ever to safe 6 intime. But still they aren't looking very well like still hanging on top of my tank I think they r trying to seeking for oxygen. temperature now have been lower to 84, due to they still have white spot I cant really put down the temperature right away. but I will get it back to 80-81 tonight or tomorrow morning. been doing a 25-50% water change daily now during this period of time. Any one have suggestion for them.

Sorry :/

Did the black out cause them to become ill in the first place ?

Did the power come back on ?

When my power goes off for more than a few minutes I unplug my filters .

When power is off for extended periods of time vitrifying bacteria begin to die off , at the point when the filter comes back on and circulates water , poisonous toxins could instantly kill most fish .

Rinse the filter media well , and do daily water changes is the best solution IME , try to match the temp or raise it just a little .

good luck with the rest

they have ich 2days before the black out. And at that time their ain't any stuff in my filter I clean everything like washed deeply. Since midicain require me to remove everything from filter only thing left is a clean sponge and thats about it. Power had been back on like 9pm on that morning other wise more will die :(.

How big is your tank ?

So you now have 6 Sevs that are like 6 to 8 inches long , is that correct ?

its a 35g now I have 6x10-15cm sevy

Sorry you're having such problems .

35 g is barely enough for one of your Sevs at the size they are :/

Near constant water changes may help , but if they survive you should think about getting a bigger tank and or who you can give some of fish to .

Rule of thumb , one may live in the 30 , but 55 gal is better [ possibly 2 ], 2 could work in a 70 gallon [ 4 foot tanks I'm talking about ] ,obviously the largest tank you could afford would be best .

Dont have free tank atm. except the 75 g tank which have 4 discus in it. But I wouldn't be able to move them their until they r cure. and I dont know if severum going to bully my discus :(. They have been inside this tank for like ever since they r little 4 cm I guess. I see if I could get another tank if possible.

They have definitely out grown their current tank , this is the most likely reason for the illness .

Never kept discus , so I can't say if that could work or not [ keeping the 2 species together ].

Maybe if the Sevs live and you clean the 35 up good [ real good ]you could keep the discus in that tank , and put some of the Sevs in the larger tank :dunno: , someone else may know better .

But you're gunna have to part with some of your Sevs , I fear one way or another :/

good luck :)

acturally I think its the rock I recently toss in cause the problem. Before I have them for 4 year and they never have any problem until I have toss them a rock. Which I boil it many time with hot water. And I had 5x smaller sevy die before to white spot before.
