I have a pregnate Platy, and I noticed today she has white globs on her side fin and shes not looking very good at all. I medicated the tank with Furan - 2 , I followed the directions ! I medicated the whole tank because one of my other females died a few days ago. But she didn't have any signs of being sick same with a male I lost yesterday morning. :( The water, I teseted and everything is normal. Any suggestions would really be apprecited ! Thanks

No it just looks like there is white... God I dunno how to explain it. Its while goody stuff, its like its holding her fin together so it can't spread out. Even in the last hour I think shes gotten worse. :( :-(

i believe u have some sorta worm or somethin like that. sry i'm not sure what to use to sure it

ok does'nt sound like a worm thing to me.

consulting my bible, (my fish health book), the closest I can find is Fish fungus/ cotton wooll disease. but being her fin is infected more likelyu to be fin fot.

not heard of what you used to treat, but maybe worth getting a treatment that treat all 3 of these, if there is one.

does sound alot like fin rot to me, but as I can't see the fish, I can't be shore.

The medicine I have teates I think it is 5 things all together. The other fish look fine expect there is one male who looks like he may have a tuch of it too ! Should I seporate them or meave them in the main tank? How long should it take to get rid of this stuff if I can at all?

Does it look like cotton, Cuz thats what my corys have. My LFS gave me some penicilin. One tablet per every ten gallons.(Treat 5 days everyotherday then the 6th day 25% water change. Make sure you [/U]or this treatment will NOT WORK

personaly I'd treat the hole tank as you already lost fish, over fish maybe infected and just not show signs.

What baffles me is that these illnesses are normaly carsed by bad water conditions, but you said they are fine, is there anything that could have stressed them resently?? or a sudden change in temp was another caursing factor.

It could be that cotton thing. I did also take the carbon out. I'll have to try to get to the pet store tomorrow and see what else I can find. Something that might have stressed them out. The only thing I can think of is the fact that they are pregnate and look like they could go anyday. Although it is only one of my 4 females sick. The only other one that might have a hint of something is my blue guppy. I dunno... :/
