I got 5 neon tetra from pets at home yesterday, and 24 hours later notice some white fluffy patch on one of them. So I rushed out to get some Anti Fungus meds and put it in according to dose info. These were my last addtion to finish my tank ( I have 4 guppies, 2 poka dot loach, which have been heathly, and happy) I bought these from a different lfs and have everything running fine for 2 months.
So anyway, half an hour after putting the meds in, the sick neon has dissapeared, and one of my loaches has a fat belly!
If the loach has eaten it will the loach be ill?
I'm really annoyed, that I didn't wait for my lfs to get some in. (i've waited 4 weeks). :shout:

Neons don't travel very well so losing one straight after purchasing it is not unusual, that said it wouldn't hurt to add Myxazin to the tank just for 24 hours as a precaution.

Where is the fluff on the fish.
How did you climatise them.
You will need myxazin and pimafix.
Is quite normal sadly for a fish to die in a day stress and the journey.

The fluff was on one side of the body. I left them in the bag floating for 20 mins, adding a bit of my tank water every 5 mins. I tried to net them out of the bag, but decided not to, and let them swim out. I'm just worried my loach wil get ill if it ate a sick fish?
I used Interpet anti fungus and fin rot, and all fish look ok, but I think one neon might have a tiny bit of fungus on its mouth. I need a magnifying glass to see it really. I'm going to wait 7 days and see if I need to dose again. It might sound like i'm panicing, but this is my first tank, and I spent ages learning how to do things the right way, all my fish were great, and I just want to do whats best As soon as poss'

You have columnaris in your tank the fluff on the body, and now mouth fungus.
if the meds dosn't clear it up get back to the board.
I would advise turning temp down by two degrees as it mulitples faster in warm temps.

I would just stop using meds and must make sure your tank water is clean. Just perform frequent water changes.

Mouth fungus is not to be taken lightly it can soon rot the mouth away, and she has a few fish suffering from columnaris so I would definately use a med.
