hi,
looks like i have a cory trili on his way out. the past couple of days he has not been moving around much. mostly laying around and his colors looked dull. last night i saw him laying in the plants looking dead. i went to scoop him and he swam away. Same thing the morning. He swims away from me upside down. I'm pretty sure he is going to die soon. I cant seperate him because i dont have anything to put him in. suggestions?

If he is swimming upside down/on his side then he may have a problem with his swim bladder. Although there are ways of treating it, such as chemicals (which I have never tried) or adding peas (this doesn't always work as the fish don't always eat new foods added to the tank) they might not work as there is only a small percent chance of them suriving. However I can not say it is deffiently swim bladder, you will have to decide what you think it is I'm afraid. Saying that if you would like to give your fish a humain death there are quite a few ways of doing so such as knocking it out with vodka, this acts as an anaesthetic.

Yet again I can not say it is swim bladder as I have not seen the fish, but if you read into it, you might be able to get some ideas to what the problem might be or might not be. Hope that can help in some way.

i think ima have to put this poor guy out of his misery.

Its not the nicest thing for people to do, but at least the fish doesn't suffer. Do you know if it's swim bladder or are you still uncertain?
