For the first time in, well, awhile, I got a chance to watch my fish some tonight (things have been *crazy* around here...hence me not being around at all lately). Anyway, things looked pretty good - the plants are starting to green up, my Hygro is growing again, didn't see any ich on the Neons (yay!) - other than one of my Pepper Corys. His fins are kind of ragged and all his scales/armor plates are sticking up. His tummy doesn't look swollen, nor do his eyes look bulgy. Since he doesn't have the swollen tummy, is it likely to be dropsy? Could it be some sort of parasite? He's acting okay...and as far as I know, he's been eating okay. Like I said, though, I haven't had much time to watch my fishies lately :(

I'm hoping things will start settling down soon. It'd be nice to have some time to wash a few dishes and get some laundry done. We were gone for four or five days last week, then both Kevin and I have worked every day since then. Tomorrow morning, we have to leave early so I can go to the rehersal for my sister's wedding, which is tomorrow evening. After the wedding, we have to drive back home, 'cause the photographer has to be back home tomorrow night and she's riding with us. Kevin and I were hoping to get to stay up there overnight and visit a bit, but alas... :/ We're both off Weds., though. I work Thursday - not sure if Kevin does. Then I have off until New Years' Eve. Kevin works at 3a.m. Christmas Day :( It's been crazy here. I want things to slow down.

On the fishy side...I have my sister's Betta now. I told her I would take him back when she needed me too (gave him to her for a graduation presents, complete with the tank) and that if she ever wanted him and/or the tank again, she could take 'em. He's a blue guy and his name is Rodgin (her soon-to-be-husband came up with the name, I think). Kinda moody though...

Anyway, it's after midnight and we need to be on the road by 6:30 a.m., so I need to go get some sleep. Thanks, in advance, for any help. Hope y'all are doing well. I've been missing you!

I would say that your cory has dropsy. Try changing the water and adding some treatment. ie melafix.
Hope the little guy survives.

You say you've been very busy. When was your last water change? What are your current nitrate levels? You might want to post to the Emergencies forum as well. Help is usually pretty quick there.

The last stage of dropsy is scales sticking out, sorry i don't hold out much hope for the poor guy, also he has a second infection aswell with the frayed fins, I would issolate him if you can.
