Okay, to make this story short, i bought a sick Cockatoo Apistogramma for 59 ents ( i have connections, hehehehe), and then i bought some meds for her. KH & GH : Tooo high for my test kit to register

Type of test kit: API Liquid Freshwater Master Test kit

Symptoms: A white almost parasitic thing on her eye, just over the pupil's area. She cannot see out of that eye, either becasue it's been damaged, or its in the way. She sometimes mistakens air bubbles for food becasue she cannot see w/ both eyes. She has no itching, scratching , or any other blemishes. This med is on its 5th day, and ITS NOT WORKING! Its all i had money for, and it appears to treat anything and everything that could be wrong. The only other med i own is Quick Cure. I NEED HELP, I DONT WANT TO LOSE HER!

LIFEGUARD All in one treatment medicine Sounds like a tonic med to me and there a complete waste of money, plus there no meds for viral infections anyway.
The eye don't know what you mean can you describe it in more detail.
White specs on the eye can be eye flukes.

Great, i just wasted some 5 dollars and some odd cents. It isnt white dahses, it looks like one HUGE grains of salt that covers the pupil completely. I will try to get pics.

I got a video. You can see it more clearly in the end, so then you might have an idea of what this is:

Krib sorry I couldn't make much out in the video link.

Yes, poor fishy has a cataract! Do you think it can be treated efficeintly? Or should i just leave her to die on her own? Is there a specific med you would suggest? Im going to petsmart for the med, so they need to carry it!

^ wait, can a cataract only been on the pupil, or on the entire eye?

Don't know much about it to be honest you don't come across it that much.
According to that link it can be lack of a vitamin deficiency,
You could try the fungal med.

Taken from the link provided ealier.
A cataract is a lens that has become opaque and does not transmit light efficiently. While not common, this condition does occur in fish. Causes include nutritional deficiency, trauma and hereditary factors. Providing a balanced diet with food that is fresh (commercial food less than 6 months old) can help prevent cataracts.
Cataracts Treatments
This is difficult to cure. Sorry. I have heard of, the only treatment specifically designed for this ailment is Eye Fungex by Aquatronics. But I can't endorse it, I've never used it.
Cataracts are fungal growths on the eyes. Treatment with any aquarium fungicide should work, but it's risky. The eyes are important.

I mean, im 14, and dont ahve much money, so im not sure if its worth it. Will the cataract kill her? Or is it somethng she can live with? I feed my fish Spirulina and other high quality foods, could giving her food with the right vitamin amounts correct the cataract? Or is she going to have this for life?

Not sure to be honest know nothing about fish with cataract.
Now you know what it is you could post in the tropical discussion to see if any members have had the same thing happen to there fish, who could help you out, and advise you what to do.

Thanks Wilder!!!!! Its a good thing we have people like you on the board or we'd never make it!

Did you manage to get anymore advice.
How the fish doing bless him.
