Here's a fish question I just got and am not sure about:

My clowns are about 5 years old. The larger one has white spots on his body and his tail doesn't look that great either. His stopped eating yesterday and he's hiding in a flower pot. I've treated the tank with Melafix because that's what worked the last time he was ill. This time, after four days and no improvement, I did a partial water change and still no improvement. My husband thinks it is Ick, but I've never seen ick that looks like this stuff. I've seen velvet and this really doesn't look exactly like velvet either. I was going to add salt to the tank but I've read that clown loaches don't like salt. The white spots are about the size of a beebee, but they appear to have a center that is whiter than the rest of the spot. If I don't do something soon, I will lose one of my favorite fish.

I know this info is probably too vague, I am just hoping.

Please help soon!!!

Thanks

What size tank is it in gallons? What are the other fish in the tank? Have you noticed any flicking, rubbing, or darting around? Could you post a picture of them? I'd reccommend using a medicine called nox-ich and for example you have a 20 gallon tank instead of adding 1 drop per gallon like your supposed to which would be 20 drops you would add half the dosage which would be 10 drops.

Right need to no water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what size tank in gallons, how many fish and which type, any signs of the fish flicking and rubbing against objects, any laboured breathing, do the patches look bleached out or fluffy in appearance.
