Hi everyone. My 12 gallon is coming along really nicely with a community of 10 CPDs 8 pygmy corys and lots of shrimp. I recently added a new male CPDafter my original "Paul" got himself stuck under a rock and died. The new guy "Bryan" has been here for little over a week and is very shy, his colouring is not as vibrant as the others and his fins are constantlt clamped unless hes courting the girls or sometimes when he eats. I cant tell if he is sick or just stressed.

I have some terrible photos byt maybe someone with experience might know if he is sick. Therr doesnt seem to be any obvious physical signs except the discolouration and behaviour. Thanks so much you are all great.

Never kept this species so not sure, sorry. I reckon others will know or have a good idea of what's up with the little fellow :)

To me though, loss of colouration is mainly stress-related.

It might be that hes just a shy boy and not yet settled with everyone else. I cant see any signs of a disease and hes eating and not getting any worse. All the other fish look perfectly healthy and happy. Hopefully he will settle into his own with time. Ironically he is the largest fish in there!

Nice looking tank. My CPD‘s can lose color when stressed. This happens when the dominant male is on the warpath.

He does seem to lose out to the other males and act a bit scared. Even though they are just over half his size!
