I have a male betta who has a large lump at his tail end. it causes him to float, on his side usually. his appetite has gone down, but he still eats. he's been like this for a week. any advice

The large lump does it look like a cauliflower or a cluster of berries.
What colour is the lump?
Is the lump hard or soft like filled with fluid.

the lump is white underneath the scales, and doesn't look like a cauliflower or a cluster of berries. I originally thought that he had eatin something and couldn't digest it. That's what its appearance reminds me of. it's been almost 2 weeks now.

All you can do is try a bacterial med just to make sure it isn't a tumour.
Best to issolate though as lump can burst and infect the tank.
Good luck.
