1. Water parameters - really dont know about this.
2. A full description of the fishes symptoms - Behaviour wise he seems fine. However, he has this white kind of fluff which has developed over night on his head and for a little while now his fins seem to be getting more see-through, with increasing black bits on the end. I took him to a pet store/aquarium and showed the people that work there but they said it may be a case of high ammonia levels.
3. How often you do water changes and how much. - I've recently changed him from a small 2 L tank to one which is about 10/12 L. He has been in there 3 days now and seemed to have a little more life when i put him in the big tank.
4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water - so far only decholrinator. I have Bettafix but havent used it yet.
5. What tank mates are in the tank - none.
6. Tank size - 10/12L i think.
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish - no, he has no tank mates. I have recently added a tank ornament and some new gravel which was all washed before putting him in there.

Will add photos asap

Need water stats really, but black edging or patches on fish are ammonia burns that are healing.
Fluff on the head is bacterial but you can sometimes just clear it up with water changes.
If things don't improve with the water changes i would issolate the fish and use a bacterial med.
Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
I would invest in some liquid test kits, good luck.

i just went to take some photos and the white stuff is not there anymore. He seems to be eating fine as well, and quite willing to chase mosquito wrigglers around the tank.

Right just seen the size of the bowl or tank, twice a week then, go to the betta forum plenty of experienced members over there, good luck.
