Greetings,

I have this Betta for almost a year, in a 25 liter tank, constant heat at 27 deg. celsius.

Maybe a week ago I noticed that he has formations on his bottom fin that look like blisters. Those are 3, 4 little balls hanging down like a bunch of grapes, and they look like they are full of liquid.

He does not seem to be bothered by it, eats, swims and behaves in a normal way.

Any ideas?

The image is a little blurry but my shutter is rather slow so this is the best I could get out of 20 pics cause he was refusing to stand still :p

I had a VT who would occasionally get the same thing. I narrowed it down to lymphosystis(spelling?). It is viral in nature and will not outrightly kill the fish. Those little bubbles will come and go from time to time. May affect other fish of similar species. Since it is viral, there is not cure for it so no treatment necessary. Just keep the water clean so if and when they rupture there isnt a chance of secondary infection.
I wouldnt worry too much about it tho-my boy lived a nice long and otherwise healthy life with it.
All the best
Cheers

Do fish have feeling in their fins?? Just a silly thought really. I would think they definitely do at the root of the fin but I was wondering at the ends.

Thanks for the reply,

So how long would it be normal to expect for those bubbles to dissapear in most cases?

Difficult to say. Sometimes the "bubble" would be there for weeks. Other times a matter of days. While it looks unsightly it shouldnt affect the fish's overall health or behavior.
cheers
