My betta hasn't been eating and he sometimes is lying on the gravel. Iv had him for 6 months in a 5 gallon tank by him self. The water was 85 digress F. so is the water too hot? I clean the tank every 2/3 weeks. His fins also look like he is turning into a crowntail when he is a delta tail betta. His color is less bright too. So is he alright?

You might need to change the water more often.... I am not familiar with Bettas(though I had one when I was little for 3 years till my cat "kissed" him a little too aggressively) but 85 seems awfully hot.

yes the water is wayyy to hot, He is probably lethargic because of the heat. Gradually over 24/48 hrs reduce the temp to 25C (77F) he will become more energetic then i'm sure. x

yes lower the temp gradually as advised.
also if he is becoming like a 'crowntail' as you say then the chances are he has fin rot. Id advise cleaning the tank alot more often than every 2-3 weeks.
Clean water should heal his tail in no time,

Thx he is in 78 digress right now and I put API fungal infection medicine and it said that it also cures fin rot. He is starting to eat more and I think he is getting his color back. His fins are still the same but I guess it will take some time.

Bettas fin growth rapidly so you should notice small amounts of clear regrowth with in a few days really.
Do extra water changes, this will help just as much, if not more than the meds

I agree wirh doing water changes right now! You have to remove what causes his fin rot, which is the bad water! You should change 50% once a week not every 2-3 weeks! You run the risk of creating old tank syndrome where there is a build up of nitrate and a depletion of minerals!
