Tank size: 29
pH:7.9 (brackish 1.007sg)
ammonia: .25 ppm
nitrite: 1.0 mg/L
nitrate: 10 mg/L
kH:
gH:
tank temp: 82

Symptoms: Started out as small white dot on his anal fin. It has now progressed, after a week, to half of his anal fin being gone. It is also spreading to the bas of the rest of his anal fin. No other fins appear to be affected. His other fins are beginning to appear shredded, but not nearly as serious as his anal fin. It appears to be worse on one side than the other. It is not protruding like a fungus, however, now that the white splotch is progressing up his body, the base of his fin is becoming inflamed. He is still eating (spitting in fact) and swimming about. He is in my newly acquired hospital tank. My tank is overfiltered with a DIY sponge, a biowheel 330, and a biowheel 150. I took the biowheel 150 and transfered it to the hospital tank. He has been treated with Jungle Fungus clear, maracyn two, and I am currently treating him with maracyn-tc. The first two seemed to have no effect. I also have done two salt water dips for 20 minutes each. Maybe I should try maracyn 1 (used for gram-positive)
I am not sure if they are helping yet but it seems to be spreading slower now.
In the original tank, his only tankmates were three mollies, and their food sources are completely different, so they are not stealing food from him. The white spot appeared shortly after I acclimated him ( 1 week to be exact) And grew a few mm each day. I think he may have been stressed when he was shipped to my lfs, seeing as I special ordered him. Another note is that they cannot breed these in captivity, so he was imported from southeast asia. The Mollies have no disease and appear healthier and more active than ever. Phew, I hope this was enough info. Once again, I'm pretty sure it is fin rot, I am just seeking help with treatment.

currently (1 week after white spot appeared) As I said before, it appears to be progressing up his body, this is the bad side.

How long has the tank been set up as your water stats are bad saying uncycled tank.
How many fish and which type.
Any red circling around the white spot or red in the centre of the spot.
Best to use maracyn one and two.
Your fish has a secondary bacterial infection of finrot hard to cure once they mount up.

The tank has been set up for two years, one month in brackish, but it is also a low sg.
?
No, no red in the spot, maybe a pink tiny but not red.
I will pick up some maracyn 1 today.
What is the secondary infection? More fin rot?

The spot is bacterial then if it has pink in it.
Seondary infections is where they have more than one bacteria infection, you have the spot thats bacterial and finrot is bacterial.

Alright thanks, I ran out of maracyn two dosage and have been using maracyn-tc for the fourth day today. The rotting has seem to come to a halt but I am not sure if it is from the meds or the saltwater dips. Can I now try using regular maracyn and attempt to cure it, or is it even worth trying? Would antibacterial foods work better?

Bacterial foods are good but you would have to get the med out of the tank.
Med foods are only good if the fish is still eating.
You can buy maracyn plus which is for finrot and sores etc.
