Hi there

I have a 65L aquarium I was wondering can i put a Siamese Fighting Fish together with guppies?

If not what fish will go with Siamese Fighting Fish?

How many do you need to have can you just have the one?

Thanks

Fighting fish should only be kept as singles and don't put anything in with big tails as they think they are other fighters( not the brightest fish) a large shoal of tetras would be ok or if you want live bearers then mollies or platies will be fine also.

Guppies and siamese fighters dont really mix as guppies have fins that are long and flowing so the fighter may assume the guppy is another siamese fighter and attack it...

The best tank mates are cories and possibly some tetras.

You could get 1 siamese fighter with say 6-8 neon tetras and 4-6 cories in a 65L, not bigger cories such as bronze or albino though, maybe peppered?

you could get a guppy species that has short fins and is dull, but that defeats the whole object of the guppy

Yes, as the others have said, only one SFF to a tank; they're not called fighting fish for nothing!

Good tank mates for them are; most tetras, but not the nippy ones, rasboras and microrasboras, some of the smaller non nippy barbs, like cherries or five banded, shrimps and snails.
