Siamese Fighter with Angels?

Hi, I recently changed my 4ft tank into a quite well planted tank with 6 angels( 4 small golden marble and 2 quite large black angels), plus 4 pearl gouramis. I am hoping to add a siamese fighter to this equation but on the community creator it is saying that the angels may nip at the betta. Having already failed to raise a betta in a community tank ( before any investigation i put him in with tiger barbs, it was too late by the time i realised), I dont want to lose another one. This tank is a lot more planted than the last one which had none, but is the angel going to seek it out once they know he's there, any help appreciated as I really want a new betta. thx.

I have a plakat in with my angels but he has short fins so the angels leave him alone. I personally wouldnt risk a betta with long finnage. My tank is also 4ft long.

As a general rule, angels and bettas don't work well together. I would actually think the more likely problem would be that the betta would attack the angel (big fins) thinking it was another betta. I'm sure some people have had them together and they have worked out but I think that would be more the exception than the rule.

I doubt the betta would bother the angels, but the angels would definitely bother the betta. Gouramis and bettas don't mix well either. But hey, if you just want a betta for the sake of having a betta you can keep one in a very small (minimum 1 gallon) unfiltered tank if you do weekly 100% water changes

would it not be cruel tho, to keep him in an unheated tank or is this ok?

As long as your room stays above 75F or so, it's not cruel.
