Siamese Fighter Broke Out In White Spot...

Hi, I bought a siamese fighter yesterday and today he's broken out in white spot and is now resting on top of my fluval filter. I've added an interpet white spot treatment this morning and i'm gradually turning the temp up to around 27 degree's, its now on 25.

Is it possible to add a small dose of salt to the tank while there is white spot treatment in there???

What other fish do you have in the tank, or is it just the fighter.

it's just the fighter, i added some salt and now he's just sitting on the bottom, sometimes swimming round the tank. he has ragged fins too.

How much salt did you add because if say for example you had a 2.5g tank and you put a teaspoon in their that is considered a salt bath and they should only be in a salt bath for 15 minutes or until they start sitting on the bottom. I like to use a medicine called NOX-ICH and it has cured all the fish I had that had it. Also if you post this on the betta section you will get more help.

I would also add some maracyn two if he has ragged fins the fins could be a sceondary infection, good luck.

I did a big water change and left the carbon pad in there for a while then i've added methylene blue treatment. It's been in there for nearly a day and the white spot is still bad all over him and he's still on the bottom!!!

Well it takes more than one day to see improvment.

my current tank temp is at 84 degrees. is this high enough to kill Ich???

Good add abit of salt to his bowl or tank, also to speed things up you can do salt baths in another container.

pcam86 not sure if you knew what wilder meant by 30 degrees and it means 30 degrees celcuis so I would think that 84 degrees is fine.

i'm not sure how much salt is in the water right now as i added 6 teaspoons 3 days ago then did like a 2/3 water change with fresh water
how much more would you add with the methylene blue in the water also?

LOL of course i knew what he meant! but yeah i'll get mine up to like 30 now.
