We have a blue siamese fighter in a 35L tank with 2 gouramis, 2 clown loach, 1 albino catfish, 1 male guppy & 4 neon tetras. The siamese has lost most of his tail overnight! i've researched the other fish and they are all meant to be calm & docile fish.
Is one of my fish nipping the siamese?
please help, i don't want him to die
also one of the gourami's has isolated himself but is not nipped

That is well and truly alot of fish for that size tank, all i would keep in that size tank would be the betta.
Them clown loaches will be stressed to death in that size tank as they need a 120gal tank.
The reason for the nipping is that there is no room for them fish to move and they are becoming aggressive.
I would rehome everything by the betta.

Gourmi's and Bettas will usually fight and nip each other. It's not for fish to be stressed. Remove the betta and give it it's own home - a 2 gallon bowl will do.
As for the rest of your 9 US gallon tank...... :/

I'm afaid two clown loaches do not belong in a 9US gallon tank. These fish will very quickly outgrow your tank and become massive 12" fish. They will only be stuned in such a small tank. Please rehome them or provide a home for them they require - this would be a 75 gallon tank ultimately.

What gouramis are they ? and what albino catfish do you have ?

It sounds like you have fish that unfortunately do not belong in a 9 gallon tank :( sorry......

thanks for the info, i may have to move the loach to my other tank.
the gourami's are dwarf type blue & flame. the albino catfish i'm unsure but they are only 20mm long and just bottom feed

Dwarf Powder blue gouramis I believe then. They alone can be fine in the 9 gallon tank along with the Albino Corydoras (again I assume). Clown loaches are not suited to any tank less then 40 gallons.

Betta will obviously need a new home and Male bettas are not really community fish as even fancy goldfish are capable of inflicting it some damage :( . You may have seen people keep Bettas in community (I myself have them) but its just a matter of luck and time when the other fish realise that the betta fins are an alternati ve food.
