I recently bought a betta fish and some goldfishes and they get along, but when I feed them the goldfishes tend to eat everything before the betta can try to get some. The betta seems to be kinda shy and swims around near the bottom and slow to react when I put food in the tank. Any suggestions? Thanks.

i think you might need a heater for your betta and put him in a separate tank because goldfish and betas are not suitable together.also goldfish swim faster because they have shorter fins but bettas have long flowy fins (unless it is a girl).so put your betta in a separate tank and just keep him in there with a heater and see if that improves his feeling's.sorry for the disappointment but that is the truth in my opinion.

Ohh okay, I'm going to keep them together till I get another tank. Thanks

as said they do need seperating as bettas are tropical fish so require a heater, this also is probably the reason he isn't eating swimming around much
