I have a issue with my 10 gal tank
It has
2 yoyo loaches
1 rubbernosed pleco
2 danios

the yoyos hide constantly, one hides in the leaves of a plant and the other actually hides in the gravel. The tank has a river theme, like natural gravel and larger gravel a large piece of drift wood and a few plants. the rubber nose stays behind the drift wood and he fears any movement near the tank. I know that they are noctrnal but I have younger ones in another tank in the same room that stay mostly in the open.

In general with the dannios at the suface and the rest hiding it looks compleatly empty. :-( :dunno:

The Danios REALLY belong in a larger tank, and there should be AT LEAST a group of five of them. In smaller numbers, they become nippy and aggressive, and they don't do nearly as well.

The above is true - consider a more suitable top dweller, like white clouds or small rasbora, that way you can keep 6 or more and create a proper shoal (you'll see how much cooler they are as a group).

To answer your question though, the loaches and pleco are nocturnal. They do tend to come out more once they're settled and comfortable, but they're not the best fish to start off with if you want a visibly active tank from the beginning.

Adding more fish and creating more activity in the tank will help bring them out, as will a bit of time and patience.

In my defense I know what a school is but these are the last ones from my first tank. I dont want any more and my pet store will not buy them/take them so I decided to keep them until they grow old and die I dont have a better solution and I dont want four more.

sorry, but what about the other fish. Is there any one who has some advice?

Thanks
