Thank you for the idea!

we just kept saving the shells of eggs and drying them
Well, that could be an idea... How often do we have to remove/add eggshells

no, what i mean is if you keep saving egg shells every time you cook them you'll end up with a LOT
add them every time the little things eat so they can eat the shell too

Ohhh ok! They'll eat it! Nice... So after I cook up an egg I just rinse the eggs off really well and then boil them and then how do I dry them?

if they're hot egg shells they should dry fairly easily in open air
then use a mortar and pestle to grind it

Ok. Thanks! Do I have to use those to grind it or can I just put it in a bag and smash it? Also wont the other fish mistake it for food and grab it? Will it harm them?

a bag is fine but some flatter pieces will not be grinded.
a mortar and pestle is fine since the egg shells are food clean and technically edible. they will mistake it and then spit it out i think... it has never been stuck before

Ok, sounds good. Thank you

I read few articles recently, that it is not "smart" to supplement calcium for snails, as they rarely will consume it this way, but it is better to build up their natural immunity to the water leaching the calcium out of their shells, by providing varied diet and calcium rich food (like spinach leaves, zucchini,..)

Not sure how it works, one reputable breeder here never supplements calcium by eggsgells or cuttlefish bone, but I know many keepers do it anyway.
Will let you know, I also opted to not go with supplements, but instead feed varied. We just have to wait few months for results...
