can anyone tell me what kind of shrimp this is, is it an amano shrimp because it does not look like my other amano's ? It has very long,big claws & keeps nipping the loaches. Thanks

What was it labelled as at the LFS? Maybe it's a baby crayfish.... I don't know why, but it somehow doesn't look very shrimpish.

It's clearly a shrimp from the macrobrachium genus and is a palaemonid species, but as there are literaly hundreds of species many of which look very much alike and also are chamaeleonic, it would be very very difficult to pin it down to a specific species.

If it's bugging your fish then it needs to go into a tank of it's own, or with non-bottom dwelling fish.
