Shrimp Skin O.o

so i was cleaning my tank today after a water changed i noticed a shrimp husk ... look like a skin. and one of my shrimp has seem to gone missing every time i picked up the wood he would always hide in the dark

Shrimps do regularly shed their outer skin, which is an exoskeleton, so they can grow. They will hide away until the new skin has hardened, as they're very vulnerable to predators at that time.
