I want to get a couple of Amano shrimp. Do I need to quarantine them? Maybe a foolish question, but when I got my first 2, Frick and Frack, I didn't know much and just put them in and didn't have any problems.

I do keep shrimp, I didn't quarantine either, but I don't know whether I should have. I don't know what if any diseases or parasites they could bring in?

I’ve never quarantined shrimps at all, ever!

In fact never thought to quarantine them to be honest!

Just put them straight into the tank after acclimatisation of water temps is what I normally did.

If you already have some shrimp in a tank, then all new shrimp should be quarantined for a month before being added to the established tank. This will prevent the new shrimp introducing diseases to your other shrimp. It can also prevent diseases getting into the main tank and affecting fish. Most fish diseases are transmitted through water.
