I currently have a 10 gallon tank, with 6 neon's and 5 cory's (bronze). All is well and good. Was wondering if i could add like a lone shrimp or like one of those african dwarf frogs. Both are neat lil creatures i have seen at my LFS.

I think they sell ghost shrimp, but i can't remember, i just remember seeing some shrimp but didn't give it much thought.

I might be at my limit already, if so that's fine.

I was thinking about this. Does ammonia hurt aquatic plants? My tank is cycled and all but i was wondering if you setup a new tank and plant it then start doing a fishless cycle by dumping a lot of ammonia in the tank does it hurt the plants any?

Plants love ammonia, as long as it's not super high (read 20ppm)

In terms of fish I would maybe just add one or two ghost shrimp. The only thing with you're current stock that I would watch out for is the cories. Its good that you have them in a shoal but Bronze cories do get a decent size and when full grown are a bit big for a 10 gallon.

yeah, ghost shrimp are cool. i've got some left over i had for my puffer (wich died from ammonia). i'm not sure exactly if corys and stuff will eat them, but i know alot of fish like them for a snack.

The cories shouldn't bother them, actually there a better chance of the tetras nipping at them. But if you have some plants in there I think the Ghost Shrimp will do fine and if they dont they aren't very much money.

2 pieces of driftwood, 2 Myriophyllum scabratum plants, 1 large swordtail and 1 medium swordtail.

Thats all the stuff i got in my tank. So yeah it's pretty decently planted. I thought they lived more so on the bottom of the tank?

I was thinking since the cory's scour around on the bottom so much and run up and down the driftwood occasionaly they would run into the shrimp and he'd be mad.

What do shrimp eat? Will like freeze-dried tubixfex worms (neon's and cory's eat em) also work for the shrimp(s)?

The shrimp(s) won't hurt the cory's/neon's in any way right? I don't think so as the shrimp look peaceful and i would guess are way too slow to catch them to do anything.
