Hi i went on holiday last fri for a week, i got back and my tank has a small amount of algae growing on the glass and also one type of my plants has been shredded to peices, all the leaves are floating on the surface, someone said it could be my fish but i really doubt it was! Also co2 was being added to the aquarium recently at one bubble per second about 2 days before i went on holiday.
Can anyone help, i mean what has caused my plants to tear and shred like that and where has the algae come from??
HELP
Thanks any help will be appreciated

Did you stop the addition of the CO2 because you went on holidays?

Either way it sounds like you have a nutrient deficiency, if you give your tank stats im sure someone can offer better advice on how to correct it.

No i didnt stop the co2 it is on a timer and my dad was looking after the tank. Hmm i add nutrafin plant gro though every week, thing is it is only this one type of plat that seems to be shredded.
The leaves have gona all stringy like, like it has rotted away!!
The plant is Acorus Varigated (green and White rush)
hope this helps

It not a true aquatic plant, its more a pond or bog plant, thats why it didnt last long fully submerged.
