One of my White Skirt Tetra's fin is shredded. It cannot be from another fish, as all my fish are peaceful and never mean to each other. Perhaps poor water quality? I tested my water last night. The nitrite was a weird pink/orange, but 01. The ammonia was 06. No fish seems unhealthy otherwise.

The fish is active still. A week ago, I noticed one of my White Skirt Tetras not really eating, just hovering near the middle. I figure this is the same one.

I have been treating it with Melafix. Is that all I can do?

Water changes will help with fins along with the melafix. I would be doing a small one every other day, especially seeing as you are getting slight readings of ammo & nitrite.

Just because you don't see any nipping going on doesn't mean it isn't happening. I would put the fin damaged fish in a seperate tank.

I'm seriously positive it's no nipping. I see him swimming with the fish all the time, none are negative. I have some Amquel + to help get rid of Ammonia and Nitrite too.
