Should/should Not Add A Male?

Sorry for the newbiesh nature of this post. I've had my first fish tank all of 3 weeks now! YAY! I'm doing fish in cycling and I started with 3 zebra danios, ammonia’s a bit high but I'm doing frequent water changes. Here's my issue though: About 2 weeks ago the AC went out in my house (in Texas no less) and the tank temperature got up to about 88 degrees. My 1 male danio died but I think the heat triggered spawning in one of the females. She's huge! She's not pineconed so I don't think it's dropsy. I don't see any worms. She's really active and chasing the other fish all over the tank but the smaller one appears to be a female too. When she swims in front of the light it almost looks like you can see the eggs inside of her. I didn't know fish could waddle! Anyway it's been 2 weeks since the male died and I haven't been able to find out how quickly a female will reabsorb eggs and I don't know if she's just egg laden or getting egg bound. So would you think it would be better to add a male to the tank to help her drop even though it's not quite done cycling and I don't have a way to quarantine him? Or should I give her more time to absorb? I'm not interested in raising fry but I don't want to lose this fish either. She's got spunk.

I do not understand why you couldn't add a male. I mean I don't think it would be doing anything harm. Hope this helps!

Personally I think you should wait for the tank to cycle before adding more fish or thinking about breeding. She will either lay or not. Keep on top of those water changes, daily, as ammonia is so dangerous and stressful for fish, however 'hardy' they might be.
