I have a few plants in my tank should i take them out of the little pot s they are in and plant them into the gravel ? or leave them in the pots?? does it really matter ?

The pots will restrict the roots and you'll not get much good growth out of the plants. Definately worth taking out of the pots. Also, you'll probably find you can spread 1 pots worth around a bit as there will be several stems that can be planted individually.

Cool :)

If they are those little clay pots, with just some stems shoved into them and a bit of foam, get rid of the foam. You might have problems getting the stems to stay in the substrate. If so, re-plant them using some tweezers. Makes life easier as when doing so, it doesn't move as much gravel away from the stem so in turn holds the stem in place more securely :)

thats what they were ... wondering it i could use the foam as fiter medium ?

and the growth restriction may explain why they started to die .. see if they take now gave them a dose of plant food (sera Florena) to be presice :)

I wouldn't use the foam personally :) I don't think it'd do much good. Depending on the foam (and its density), it might inhibit water flow too much.
