Hi...I wouldn't fill my SW tank with anything less than pure water. I have an RO/DI unit and I"m glad I use RO. Setting it up with tap is just asking for headaches. So, I'd say yes. You can do your test run with tap water tho' and mix your first SW directly in the tank. SH

RO ONLY evertime

It would have to be a dire emergency when I add Tap Water to my Tank

I would defo get a RO Unit, one of my best buys since owning a Salt Tank

:p :p

The hole piont of the RO is to remove 95% of the crap water boards pump into the water like phophate PO4 that our water board uses to line the lead pipes to make drinking water safe to drink problem is it promotes algle kills inverts no good for us fish keepers all because they are to cheap to replace the lead pipes with plastic ones but the jokes on them now because its costing them more money to clean up the algle at there end then it would have to replace the pipes in the first place ... (nice one dumb a$$ goverment)

i had my water tested once(it was declhorinated with tetra aqua safe which is safe for fresh and salt water) and the guy at my fav lfs said there is nothing readable in water and the ph was neuteral. i forgot what the gh or kh was though. would it be safe to use on the inintial set up of the tank and then just use RO water? sorry for stealling this post.
