Hi there.

One of my glolight tetra's has split/tatty fins, and a couple of others have a slight white edging to their fins.

I bought some melafix before i went to work this morning.

I have a quarantine tank - would it be best to quarantine the effected fish and treat them OR does the whole tank need to be treated?? Only a few fish seem to be affected (glolights)

My main tank is 15 gallons - 6 glo lights, 4 harlequins, 3 cardinals.

My quarantine tank is 5 gallons. I have sponge corner box filter running in the main tank spare, so can quickly set up the hospital tank.

if you have a hospital tank avalable use it, it will help them to heal faste3r i think there is a sticky about it HERE

Do you have any fin nippers in the tank, how raggy are they the fins as if there bad forget the melafix.
You will need a bacterial med.

No i dont think there are any fin nippers.

The fins are not bad, think i've caught it early. Only 1 glologhts dorsal fin is split and slightly ragged looking. A couple of other glolights fins seem to have a slight white edge to them.

Thanks for the help.

Ok if there no improvement with the melafix in a few days i would move onto a bacterial med.
Make sure water quality is good as that can cause finrot.
