Right now I have a pair of Kribs that have been in a 10 gallon tank for the past year. I got them when they were about an ince long and now they are a little bigger. I have a 20 gallon tank with five red eye tetras and two tiger barbs taht I am babysitting for school right now.

I was wondering If it would be better if I moved the kribs into the larger 20 gallon tank. I think the kribs should be fine with the red eye tetras, but I'm not sure if I could mix them in with the barbs or not.

Or would it be better to just leave the krib pair in the 10 gallon all by themselves for now...since they have been settled in for such a long time. If I do move them, would they unpair or would they still stay as a couple? Right now the female is about 1.5 inches (3.8cm) and the male is about 2 inches (5cm)

So.....

Should I move them in to the 20 gallon tank?

or

Keep them in the 10 gallon tank.

The 20 gal. is a good size for Kribs. I keep mine in a 29 gal. with Red Eyed Tetras.

yeah id put them in a 20g they would love it not sure about compatibility issues but someone here will be able to help

Ok, I guess Im goin gto move the kribensis into the 20 gallon tank with the red eye tetras. Ill move the two tiger barbs into the empty 10 gallon now until I return them back to my school wince im not sure if the kribs and barbs can mix or not.

I moved mine from a 26 gallon to a 30 gallon and they unpaired. Just a warning that it can happen. Also they have become a lot more timid, and hide alot!

I have already moved mine and when I did they isntantly colored up and got very colorful for some reason...

They have been following each other around a little bit from cave to cave so maybe they are sitll paired? I did notice at one point taht they were in separate caves at some points.

They shouldnt unpair, and they should be fine with the tiger barbs, i had mine in with tiger barbs for ages and all the barbs did was interfer they the kribs looked like they were breeding.

keeping them alone or with other fish that wont eat their spawn will be good if you want to breed but if they havent done this in over a year then they may not have the right tank set up
