Here's my dilemma... I went to go look at the livebearers tank... and noticed two little babies in the box with mama guppy, my question is... how long is too long for labor, until I need to start worrying about her. I think she's been at it for maybe 15 minutes prior to me noticing but I'm not sure.. I just sat there and watched her for almost 25 minutes and nothing happened... I don't know, maybe I'm just freaking myself out ? PLEASE HELP!.. Lol I have a tank full of molly and guppy fry.. but I've never actually observed the birthing process, hence why I'm a little lost >,<

usually the process takes a hour or so if all goes smoothly, but can take longer, a lot longer... up to 7 days (maybe longer so correct me if im wrong please) as some have been known to drop a few one day, then few the next etc.

Your best off turning the lights out in tank and leave her be to not stress her out.

Soon has she looks very thin though and u think she has finished, remove her straight away and feed her.

We have a 52 fry count. Out of the 52 we got 4 eggs, and 5 still borns. : / But still a butt load of fry! Yay!

My guppy just gave birth the day before yesterday and I know exactly what you're going through. It took her forever she would drop one fry and I would wait like 15-25 minutes before she would drop another. I just kept count of how many she had delivered and watched her after two hours with no new fry I knew she was done. She dropped two the first day and 16 the next. I coud also tell she was much smaller after delivery. Congrats!
