Hi; I'm not sure if this calls for alarm, but when I was doing my weekly water change/gravel vac I noticed a tiny white bug or bug like creature cralwing on the gravel.

It is very very small and my fish aren't showing any kind of ill affects :dunno:

Do any of you know what these little buggers are and do they call for any concern. It's in my 10G tank which is home to 4 black skirt tetras and all water parametres are fine, apart from nitrates a little high, hence the water change.

Any info or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Chances are that it's just the normal crustacea that lives in the substrate of all aquaria. You might have also noticed worm-like planaria on the glass or in the old tank water.

Nothing to worry about (hence the "normal"), unless my diagnosis is incorrect.

Yeah I think you might be right but i'm fairly new to this hobby, and i've lost fish in the past so i'm probably just a little paranoid. :S

Also timmy it is about as big as a pins head really and if these types of things are normal in the substrate then that's probably what it is but i'll keep my eyes open.

thx
