We have alot of these things in our gardens in Ireland and you would think that after 26 years alive here i would know what they are called

I remember picking those when younger and blowing the seeds .
We used to try blow them all of in one go.

yeah I used to blow them when I was a kid.

I was told that how many blows it took was the time.

eg 4 blows was 4 o clock

I used to catch an individual seed as it was floating around. Then pick off the seed make a wish then put it in the ground and blow the white bit away.
