Gar- Ctenolucius Hujeta
tullip eel- Monopterts albus....who is currently sat on top of the wier grid
Ornate birchir- he's got to go in my 4ft to grow on a bit, i suspect my sengal or marbled would eat him.

Love those pics. I wanna do a big tank next (MTS, diagnosis - terminal) but gonna wait till I see an 8' x 2' x 2' second hand as I have spent too much on new tanks for now. I want one of those eels and maybe a fahaka.

Cheers, there my x-mas presents!!! a paid day out to a fish shop :D

Same here, although I have all the tanks i want now....for now.

Funny you should say that a 8x2x2 just sold on ebay for about £50 I passed it onto the minions thinking of martha, I don't think they had it though.

I hadn't seen these eels before it's so cool, pretty long aswell!!

I would love a fahaka but I'ved asked the Minions there rutine for Martha and i simply couldn't keep up with that in my current situation.

£50!!!!!

I just paid nearly a thousand for a 22" cube (including all SW equipment and LR, but still) I was undecided between marine and Malawi, so the 8 footer will be Malawi. See any more, let me know :D

Jon

Yer was quite surprising but it was a coldwater set up no stand or lighting and would of cost a good few hundred to get it up and running.

i'll keep an eye out!!

Nice selection of pressies you picked yourself there! The tulip eel is one to worry about though, Synobranchus marmoratus (which is what your eel is most likely to be) grows to around 3 feet and when adult will attack anything in the tank, which includes your hands and their powerfull jaws can easily break a fish in half or snap a finger. Good luck with that

Hmm I looked up it's name and came up with exactly what I have!! The staff at Shotgate didn't say anything liek that on it, yet they were concerned that the palma would eat the ornate (thus being in defferent tanks)

I should get some kids to put there hands in!! I'll have to see how that goes.

Few more pics-

Heres' my litle tullip munching down on a lance fish-

And a not to bad picture of the gar, showing his spot and yellow tinted tail.

And there home which is my 5x3

And the ornate is in my Ehiem 4ft until he's big enough to play with the others.

whoa, u have some very nice tanks! that 5x3 is huge! cant wait till the fishies are bigger too

Cheers, neither can I, should bring out there colours nicely!!

and the one I'ved looked forward to the most....... :hi: :hooray: :-

Oh and he's about 6 inches. The guys tanks looked very clean, also got my certificate with it :D

A very very nice fish, i am actually jealous :alien:  If i could have got a Asian a couple of years back for the kind of money you paid i would have snapped the guys arm off, but for now i will have to make do with my jardini.

Success CFC is jealous

Thanks very much though. The reds were so nice aswell, he almost tempted me go get another 100 out and buy one instead.

My one was the biggest of the greens only fractionally but still the biggest :D He has 1 scale missing on top left, 3rd scale in!! He had told they had been pretty skittish though.

Oh unfortunately the Senegal birchir is having a go at my new marbled one, I'ved added a few pipes to try and add a few more hiding places.
