Shocking News

You have fry from him? well if you do at least his genes go on, stunning fish..

Sorry for your loss, its #### how certain things happen!

Im so sorry to hear this, what a blow  , hope the eggs hatch for you :good:

Thanks everyone............still just the one fry hanging on for dear life onto the nest. Doesn't look like there will be anymore. I may move him tomorrow into a tub with shallow water but not sure how he will do. Hopefully with a lot of TLC he will survive to join the other 3.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have had unexplained deaths, and it is so upsetting. You start to think did I miss something? Could I have? The worst one I had was my puffer fish who was right as rain in the morning and dead by lunch time!

I did hear a while ago, when i first started spawning them that taking the male away from the eggs can sometimes cause intense stress, i got this from a reputable breeder in Singpore. Don't know if this is the case but was thinking that its stressful enough as it is being transfered into a different tank. Maybe something to think about.

I suppose the only other option would be to use a penplax and divide him off in the spawning tank for a while?

that would help i suppose, to get him used to not being with his eggs and then move once settled down.
